About Me
Hi. My Name's Nik
I'm a SF-based product designer with 6 years of experience designing and building product. I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains, and found my home in product design after studying art, computer science, economics and business.
I currently work as a product designer at a seed-stage startup called Gamma where I get to work on all kinds of things (design, product management, FE development).
Prior to that I was at SpotHero, where I led design initiatives on mobile apps, our website, emails, in-car experiences and more. Areas of focus have included CRO, SEO, growth, innovation, efficiency, safety and security.
In my spare time I like staying active: running, crossfit and more recently mountain biking. I also go to a lot of metal/hardcore shows, and I'm low key an expert on UFOs.
🥑 My Values
Quality
Whether it's an app or a pair of jeans, I value quality. We deserve it, and life's too short for bad product.
Kindness
Kindness is important in every context: to coworkers, to customers (in the product), and to yourself.
Collaboration
I value teams that talk. Design is all about information exchange, so collaboration is critical.
Focus
In my experience, focused teams generally create higher quality product [faster], and have more fun.
Going for It
My favorite work has always involved diving into scary problems I have no idea how to solve.
Fun
It's critical to happiness and creativity. Playfulness and humor make work (and life) way more fun.
